Why we don’t workout.
What if I fail?
What is failure? If it is just trying something and not succeeding then I fail all of the time, like all the time. To me failure is when you couldn’t accomplish something that you really wanted. Failure is hard. It can cause grief and overwhelming emotion. Did you fail at something that just isn’t possible for you? If so then it may be time to brush yourself off and move on but if you failed at something that you know in your heart you can do then there is usually another way. I don’t think true failure is a very common occurrence. I think we often times give up because it is hard. Giving up and failing are very different things.
I don’t have time.
Life is busy. There is always something else you could be doing. But tough love here, you choose what you do with your time. We all have the same amount of hours in a day but it is up to you what you choose to do with those hours. You have a deadline at work, Your 3 kids all have different activities to be at, or your house is a mess but the thing is this stuff never goes away. At some point you have to admit that your choices are just that, your choices and you have to prioritize your health.
I’m tired.
I have no doubt you are. We are are lucky if we get 6 hours of sleep which in my opinion is barely enough to survive. But much of our fatigue is mental. We are stressed and anxious. Our mind is in overdrive. Mental fatigue is powerful and consumes us but if you get your body moving your mind often times, stops moving. The mental fatigue starts to dissipate. Things actually seem doable and you know what, they are. So get your butt moving!
