Everyone’s Strong is Beautiful.

I want to make something very clear. Your body is your body. Everyone's peak physicality is going to look very different. Some are tall some are short. Some build long lean muscle some build short compact muscle. Some have wide shoulders some have wide hips. Finding what you’r healthy is isn’t easy, especially if you think it should look a certain way. Contrary to popular belief there is no gold standard on how it should look. This is why you truly have to go off how you feel and not how you look.

I know this can be a really challenging thing to do. We are bombarded with pictures of what we are told a “perfect” body should look like. But let me ask you this. These bodies you see, the ones you think look “perfect,” are these bodies yours? Seems like a dumb question right? Of course they’re not! They are someone else’s with different muscle mass, different metabolism, different bone structure, different height, different everything!!

A really good example of how everyones body is so different is if you look at professional athletes. Now, keep in mind, these woman and sometimes girls have endless resources. They have trainers, nutritionists, physical therapists, and so much more. They are undoubtely at the peak of their physical fitness but the point I want to make is that they all look very, very different. Simone Biles looks very different than Allison Felix. Serena Williams looks very different than Paige Bueckers. Different people, different strengths, different bodies, but they are all at the top of their fitness. So even at the top of peak physical condition everyone looks very, very different.

So I will say it again, the only way to really know if you and your body is healthy and strong is by going off how you feel. Do you have energy? Can you do the things you want to? If you are an athlete, are you performing how you want to be? Do you feel strong? Do you feel confident? Confidence…..

I can not stress enough the confidence you find when you feel strong physically. It is such an empowering feeling. Im not saying you have to be stronger than the people around you, I am saying you feel strong for you. You may think, “how will I know if I’m strong?” And I will say, you just know. You just feel it. Strong is a beautiful feeling inside and out and with it brings confidence. When you truly find your strength you stop looking for it in others.
